STARK-dagen: Information about new labour regulations

As many of you have heard, the Migrations Board has enforced new labour regulations for international students that have been in effect since December 15, 2008.

I wrote about the new rules here but at that stage some questions were still unanswered.

I will be at the job fair tomorrow, STARK-day, to inform about these new rules, answer any questions you have, to hand out material, and to provide handouts showing you what Swedish CV's look like.

Here is a little teaser of some of the information that will be presented:

- The minimum salary to be eligible is 13,000 SEK after taxes, but also needs to be in line with what is standard for the industry and position.
- Any job can theoretically grant a work permit to a student. It is not limited to any specific industries or professions.

When: 10.00-16.00
Where: Next to the "snålfika" area across from the second cafeteria in Balder.
For more information about documents online you can refer to the Migrations Board's homepage and click on "New rules for labour immigration" in the middle of the page.
