New Swedish ID cards for foreigners available - Not in Borås...

The Skatteverket's must awaited routine allowing foreigners a better process for receiving Swedish ID cards is active since June 1st. Unfortunately for students in Borås the closest city to get such ID cards is in Göteborg.

Complete details about how to apply for the new cards are available in an online pdf file on the Skatteverket's website.

Downloadable pdf file of the ID card: Available here

A list of the cities issuing ID cards is not avaible in the pdf file included so I have included a list here. The Tax Office in Borås have chosen not to comment when asked why they are not issuing ID cards.
