Would you like to help us arrange a cultural week?

In previous years, students from China and Iran have taken the initiative to arrange so called “cultural weeks” at the university, as a way of sharing their own culture and traditions with other students. During these weeks students as well as staff at the university, had an opportunity to learn about other students’ home countries through movies, presentations, traditional food and dances. Arranging culture weeks is a way to promote the communication and understanding between students of different cultures.

This semester we are thinking of arranging a single culture week where each day would focus on a new country. This would mean highlighting altogether five countries/cultures. To realize this idea we are looking for students who would be interested in dedicating one day of this week to their home country.

If you would like to help us plan and organize this week, please send an e-mail to linda.rydh@hb.se and share your ideas of how you would like to present your country and what activities you have in mind. Examples of how a culture week could look like can be found in previously published posts at this blog, for example the one about the “Persian week” from May 6th 2009.

  2. Hi Fateme!

I did not read your comment until now. I am thinking of having the cultural week between May 3rd and May 7th. Too few students have showed their interest so far. Therefore I will soon write a new post on the blog about this. More information will follow!
